My Parable….

TO

Like a pencil
I have found
I am able to do great things, if I allow MYSELF to be held or helped  by someone...

I've learned it is ok to experience a painful sharpening from time to time.

The most important part of ME is on the inside.
I make mistakes, so I use life’s erasers (apologies, refresh, repentance, long showers, etc.)
I leave a mark on everything and everyone I touch.
Although I scribble in pencil (my plans); GOD/Universe (divine plans) are made permanent in ink print.

Initially birthed as an avenue to showcase my prose, poetry, and published sultry novel,  Pencil2print has been my realm and website since 2004.

As an author, my storyline and each chapter were handwritten before being keyed into my laptop; hence, pencil2print.

Notably, life evolves…doors open, windows close, wells dry up, a change of watering hole or discovery of fresh sources of energy spring from losing, loving (soulmate), living (traveling), lending (serving), and lifting (mentoring). Respectively, the focus on the lens I see the world through is in constant adjustment. Many of the paths I’ve traveled led to winding roads, steep climbs, straight-shot detours, destinations, and even a few cul-du-sacs, but none were dead ends. All experiences add to my tackle box (tools) and mark X on the treasure map along the stream of life’s journey towards achieving my goals
(pencil)to God’s plan and purpose(print).

As Ledisi sings, the pieces of me…here are mine...a puzzle & masterpiece.

Daily, I wake to aspire2inspire…mentoring young women and men as they navigate college and budding careers. Being a mentor is like feeling the warmth of the sun on both sides…it results in mutual growth. Paying it forward is a must. I’ve always believed in service: volunteering, serving on boards, and helping others are in my DNA. Subsequently, I took an unscheduled (not penciled in my plans) trip to Madagascar which was within God’s plan(print),  I stepped off the plane and my life was never the same. Now, as a bona fide social entrepreneur using education, business strategies, and ideas of sustainability, I’m partnering with others to impact and change the world positively.

Hopefully, this site ( My Turf—as I call it) will enlighten, inspire, and encourage you as I share "pieces of me" with you. Visit often, and please reach out via my contact tab…as I update, comment, post pics, and blog my thoughts and ideas. Who knows what’s next…in my abridged ambition?

Cheers,

Sonni
